If you are anything like me, you have been stockpiling ideas the last few years in hopes that this is the year we can pull out the stops, decorate to the nines again, and have the family all together. If you are also anything like our family, it will be filled with long to do lists, short windows for visits and a yearning to just slow down!
Well, we have combined a gallery of fun to design, easy on the budget, awe inspiring designs that are just right for a crowd or just that favorite someone. Remember, sometimes all you need to do is create a little joy for yourself!
A Rustic Holiday Celebration
We love whenever we can bring the outdoors in and we don’t need a holiday to celebrate nature, but with a little twist (and some family foraging) you can easily bring any landscape into your home.
One of our favorite designs was for our much loved Holiday House Tour. This table setting gathered found objects with fine crystal and china, handmade napkins and even hand carved chargers with sweet little cutouts for silverware.
Take your nature inspired table decor to a whole new edible level with this sweet log cake. Get the recipe and how to right here:Birch Bark Yule Log Recipe
Table Setting 101
Set the TableSetting a guest-impressing place setting is a snap. Start with a charger, followed by the dinner plate. Top it with a smaller salad plate and the napkin. To the left, place the fork, to the right, the knife (blade turned in) and spoon. Voila, a pro-grade place setting, simplified.Courtesy of Heather Baird
And don’t forget those creative place cards!
It’s lemon season around here and we just can’t get enough whether it’s in food, beverages or holiday decor!

Holiday Traditions
Gold, blue and white is a classic palette for the Hanukkah holiday season. Put a twist on this golden hour cocktail with equal parts Meyer lemon juice, simple syrup and a shot of kosher gin.

Layering of tones creates depth and personality. We love the idea of this tie dye napkin project to get the whole family involved. Adding unexpected pops of color from the other side of the color wheel, such as a burnt orange always feels comforting and invigorating.
Scandi Holiday
And we just can’t get enough of that clean line Scandinavian vibe proving that less just might be more!
Comfort Color
Another calming trend this year is sticking with a single color and mixing metals to really bump up texture and pattern. We love this trend to simplify and amplify!
So, however you plan to gather this holiday season, we wish it to be with love and joy, from within and surrounding.

Renee was a pleasure to work with and has great vision. We were doing a total rehab of a recently purchased property and she was able to look at a gutted out '50s cottage and turn it into a beautiful mid-century modern home. She understood our budget and timeline and was good about narrowing all our options down to just a few choices. This expedited the process, made it less difficult and more enjoyable. Once the rehab is done, we look forward to working with her again and finish the rest of the rooms.
Renee at Mandeville Canyon Interior Design was simply wonderful to work with. She was able to understand what we were looking for in terms of color, function and design from the moment we first spoke. She's easy to work with, goes above and beyond and delivers an outstanding design.
I highly recommend Renee and Mandeville Canyon Interior Design. I don't think I will attempt to decorate another room in my house without the help of Renee!
Love working with Renee and Mandeville Canyon Interior Design ! I had the opportunity to collaborate on a large scale design project recently and the results were fantastic! Creative, resourceful and one of kind design ideas made this design opportunity with Renee "one of a kind" Have a large or small project? You won't be disappointed!!
Renee not only has an amazingly creative eye, she also directed a massive renovation for us this past year that included the challenges of operating during the pandemic. She put together a team that had an incredible work ethic and brought the project in on-time and on-budget. She's a great listener. When we threw ideas at her, she was never dismissive; quite the contrary, she made them better. Her patience, attention to detail combined with her whacky sense of humor meant we were all able to smile while producing a home that we love. A great talent and a great lady.
Rene is amazing! Great customer care and wonderful attention to detail.
