Pumpkins and palmtrees, cozy sweaters and sandals, the crisp fall air and the promise of temps below 100 are all part of life for me on both coasts now!

With turkeys ( or Tofurkey) and pumpkins squarely in our rear view mirror , it’s time to set our sights on some eco-friendly holiday gift ideas. We love these gift ideas because they are recycled, passed down for generations, light on your carbon footprint and good for your soul (did someone say weighted blanket?!).

So why is it that the most wonderful time of the year can also be the most stressful time of the year?!

It’s been a tough 18 months, to say the least! You are ready to spread your wings, freshen up your home and maybe donate the sofa that your grown up kiddo has been sleeping on for the last year.

So after moving to the desert a few months ago, we have a whole new respect for what’s hot! Walks before 8 am, swimming at night and booties on the dog kind of hot. For this blog we are going to talk about what’s been hot in the design world this summer.

At the time of this writing, my office is my backyard. If it rains later, I will migrate to the dining room table. If the dogs decide that anything, I mean anything, moving outside warrants a barkfest, then its on to the bedroom where I can spread out and hopefully stay awake!

If there has ever been a time when we value our homes and the space we live in, I’d say it’s now. For the past few months, we have been asked to stay home.

Well, times sure have changed since the day I started writing this interior design blog post. And things seem to be changing on a daily basis.

Incorporating wood into your interior design is more than just a trend. It’s been done for decades and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. And there’s good reason for that!
