Someday soon it will feel like spring here in New England. I promise! These chilly temps have me longing for warmer days and blooming flowers. I love the feeling that spring evokes in all of us. That happy, giddy feeling. The feeling that you want to quit work and play outside all day. Most of all I love the bursts of color that surrounds us as the trees and flowers begin to bloom. Taking a cue from nature, I am ready to add some bursts of color inside too!
To get us ready, and in the spirit, we’ve got some “Spring-speration!”. Easy ideas to effortlessly transition your home into spring.
You can start by updating a room with a new springy color. A gallon of paint is one of the least expensive ways to change your décor. If you don’t want to change the entire room, try painting an accent wall or give your chairs a fresh coat of paint in a fun color. Update some chairs or throw pillows with new spring-inspired fabric and voila! You’re ready for spring!
Fun prints and colorful accents make me happy. If you aren’t sure it’s for you or if your are a little afraid of commitment, there are tons of great removable wallpapers on the market now. Put some on the wall behind your bed as an accent. It’s also fun to put it on the inside of a cabinet or bookcase. Change it when the seasons change, or when you grow tired of the look.
Bring spring indoor with pops of green and other spring-time colors and prints!
Update artwork to reflect the season. Colorful blooms and bird prints are among the most popular choices.
Bring in the blooms! Outside is bursting with fresh blooms, bring some pretty twigs inside too!
If you are feeling more adventurous, paint your stair risers in a fun design or rainbow of colors.
It’s so fun and easy to update your home to reflect the seasons. Plus it gets you in the mood. Why live in the same old décor year round when you can easily mix things up?!
