Outdoor Living! Bring the Fun Outside
We had too much fun last week updating a few outdoor spaces for a client. Now, we had to admit that they were not too shabby to begin with. This client has a pretty good sense of design to begin with, so really all we had to do is shake it up a little and take a few chances.
With just a few playful items, we added a little spark and interest.
Often times we will start out with a virtual design board so our clients can better visualize some of the items we are proposing. This is a story board of how the design will look all together.
Many times it’s just what a client needs to help bring the picture together.
A few of our favorites from this design were definitely the indoor/outdoor red rocker
And our conversation starter indoor/outdoor zebra rug. A bold move for sure, but really, why not?!
We laced the rest of the space with great outdoor candles on remotes and batteries so living is easy and some fresh planters that can easily come inside when the season is over.
We were lucky to have not one, but two spaces, so we wanted our next outdoor living space to say, “Fresh with a twist of lemon and lime”
We filled the space with yellows and greens and a healthy dose of aquas to bring the feel of water deck side
Again a simple mood board makes it easy to see how the story unfolds
Some of our favorites from this room definitely include this inspirational rug from Company C
I always look for a piece to inspire and guide our design. It might be a work of art, or a special vase, a pillow, or in many instances a great rug. When a rug tells a story, it’s easy to work in the other characters.
And the endless supply of great outdoor pillows. Outdoor pillows have come such a long way that you will find many designers using them inside and out, and I dare you to tell the difference!
We just fell in love with this little fellow and knew he would be part of the design
We also loved this umbrella table. We are using it simply as a table, but it would work equally well with the umbrella in it!
If you aren’t lucky enough to start out with some great outdoor furniture, no worries.
There are so many wonderful sets available and at every price point.
We are contemplating a few of these sets for a client right now…
So often we blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, and for good reason!
With so much summer left out there, get out there and enjoy it. Live it up with great outdoor living!
